Nadine is claiming not that Gordon Brown is ultimately responsible but that he knew about and approved of this activity. That is a huge stretch. It is very unlikely. It is defamatory. Is all.

Chris Paul, Nadine does not accuse Brown of involvement. She merely wants his apology as this disgusting story came from one of his close advisors. Hardly unreasonable is it? I'm not a Tory in the slightest, but this latest affair just shows how low Labour are willing to go.

Nadine, you were excellent on R4 earlier! Very impressive the way you deflected the interviewer's lame suggestion that this was about about a 'bloggers' spat', and brought the focus firmly back to Brown's righthand adviser using 10 Downing Street facilities to spread smears and lies. You have every right to feel outraged. Don't let the worms off the hook, and with luck you can reel in the big fish too!

There is no way whatsoever what you have said about the origin of these emails is any way libellous of Brown. You are 100% correct in what you have said, and the way you have rightly expressed your disgust at this contemptible smear campaign. Stand up to them and be strong.
